WHAT THEY SAY
Last Dinosaurs, Aus
"JP is a kick arse producer"
"He is so technically proficient. I can’t say enough good things about him.”
Lime Cordiale, Aus
"...a wise young producer with way too much knowledge for his age.”
GLASS TOWERS, Aus
“In my opinion he’s the best in Australia at what he does”
JMC ACADEMY
““…a fascinating local award winning producer with a number of hits and major credits to his name, JP Fung.”
“…very down to earth and full of tips on vocal production and how to be successful as a freelance engineer/producer.”
PLTS, AUS
“...producer / guru / downright legend Jean-Paul Fung. He’s worked on a bunch of cool shit we loved and we know he was the man for the job.”
Liam Cassar, Aus
“The biggest problem that I had prior to the session with JP, was that I was quite unsure of how I could grow an audience utilising social media platforms and other strategies. Another problem I had was to do with my songwriting skills and being a bit unsure of what techniques can be used to make a song more memorable/stand out amongst others.
I’ve tried boosting fan engagement by posting more reels on Instagram/TikTok giving a home studio tour and also creating a post for social media about how our first song was created and what the song is about. Also, I’ve been trying to improve songwriting and gaining more knowledge on the songwriting process overall to make better songs.
It has taken quite a lot of time between releases of songs because I don’t quite have that foundational knowledge and understanding to make good songs quickly.
On an emotional level, it becomes a little bit draining when you cannot overcome the challenges you face repeatedly, and it somewhat takes the fun out of it when you try so hard.
JP really helped me by providing some great insight into the techniques that can help in both songwriting (such as focusing on the hook of the song as a memorable moment of the song) and also through how marketing can draw new people in to want to listen to your music.
The session with JP really gave me the confidence to explore and experiment with the songwriting process, and I learnt new techniques of how to boost creative thinking (one example of this is the object writing exercise). As well as this, it really made me feel like I had a tailored experience for how to focus on my ‘mission’ as an artist, and how to hone in on the audience you envision for your music. We talked about more of the psychological aspects of music and how much power it can hold - it truly helped me get a better understanding of how I can become a better musician/songwriter.
It feels really liberating and exciting to have explored the problems I was facing, naming them and then finding ways to solve them in a fun way.
I would definitely recommend this coaching call to other songwriters and artists, as it will really assist in the development of your knowledge - and through the guidance of JP, you will be able to feel more confident in any area of music that you may be struggling with currently - whether that’s the songwriting itself, the self development as an artist, the marketing and so on.”
MANAS, INDIA
“I was facing problems with songwriting and time management for my musical career. Also lack of sleep which leads a recession in productivity.
I tried creating deadlines, but procrastination overpowered most of the times, but now I got to know that I gotta carve out the schedule for my musical career which wasn't around my mind before.
It was slowing me down, making me lazy, blurring my vision, distracting me and pulling me away from my goal.
I feel stressed as I'm not able to do the things I could do and I want to do. Which leads to mini waves of depression (not working brings depression to me). And yea brings my motivation down.
JP guided me well, to be very specific : Just the way I wanted the help. His thoughts ideas and the way he teaches or guides is very well understandable to me. So the suggestions he brought are helping me a lot.
My thoughts are not as much scattered as before, The vision seems less blurry and getting focused day by day, I feel more hungry to work on music. I'm more brave and confident to take steps towards my goal. Also I have a process to start practicing songwriting. (The list might be never ending XD)
My thoughts feel less messy, somehow I feel more decisive and committed. I'm tend to work more towards my goal. I am also attending concert to observe, learn and manifest myself on those stages someday.
I feel great that I got a teacher/brother who has a great technical way of teaching just the way I wanted.
It would be a loss if someone is missing it, I would do this call an infinite number of times if that's possible so NO ONE SHOULD MISS IT. And yes I highly recommend this call to artists.”
HOWLITE, Aus
“He was totally on board and has just been the warmest and most enthusiastic person to work with; he went absolutely above and beyond for our tracks.
He brought so much high-end pop production skills and professional knowledge that we could never have conceived, and he was such a boost of positive energy the whole way through.
Listening back to ‘Stranger’, we’re still blown away by the level of production. The whole thing has been a huge source of joy.”
I Know the Chief, AUS
“JP is an animal in the studio and one of the humblest guys we’ve met, he really knows how to get the best out of everyone and everything.”
ISSY, Aus
“JP has been an incredible mentor in my songwriting journey.
His guidance not only helped me write catchier songs but also taught me how to develop ideas more effectively.
He has a unique way of simplifying complex concepts and pushing you creatively while still allowing you to find your own voice.
Working with him has truly transformed the way I approach music, and I’m grateful for the impact he's had on my growth as a songwriter.”
LANDINGS, AUS

ABOUT ME
My name is Jean-Paul (JP) Fung and for the past 15 years I have been writing, producing and mixing music professionally.
My songs have made over 21.5 Billion streams, reached platinum and gold status internationally, won awards and generated money beyond my wildest dreams.
I've taught songwriting and production all over Australia including dozens of schools as well as Universities and Academies.
I’ve worked with some of the biggest songwriters and producers in the world:
John Feldmann (5SOS), Theron “Neff-U” Feemster (Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber), Audra Mae (Kelly Clarkson), Sarah Aarons (Zedd, Demi Lovato), Don Walker (Cold Chisel), Nash Overstreet (Megan Trainer), Samu Haber (The Voice Germany), Eric J. Dubowsky (Flume, Tove Lo), Chris Coady (Foals), Scott Horscroft (Empire of the Sun) and Richard Wilkinson (Adele).
Over the years I’ve worked with 300+ artists and unfortunately only around 3% of them have survived.
I’ve seen what works and what does not work in this ever evolving music industry.
Most courses are over-priced and based on theory, and most industry “professionals” are operating on an outdated model.
